Warner Robins Fire and Police were dispatched to an early morning residential fire Monday located at 102 Delaware Avenue, around 7:29 a.m.

Warner Robins Assistant Fire Chief Scott Durham said there were initial reports of people being entrapped inside. When the first engine company arrived, Scott said they reported flames coming from the front bedroom of the structure. Firefighters made entry through the front door to conduct the search. They found no one and were able to contain the fire within minutes.

“While on scene, there were additional reports from Warner Robins Police that a neighbor heard people screaming in a back room,” Durham said. “The second engine company breached two windows and made entry into two separate bedrooms on the backside of the house. During their search, the police officers then informed us that the occupants were staying at a hotel somewhere. They continued on with their search, but didn’t find anyone.”

Durham said the house was not deemed a total loss. There was heavy fire in the front bedroom that came out the window, and burned the exterior, but Durham said as far as the rest of the house, there was no fire damage, only heavy smoke damage. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. Durham also said no firefighters were injured.
