Tony Foster – Cutting trees and helping those in need

Tony Foster has been in the tree removal business for 25 years having his own business called Tree Life. He cuts down trees, splits the wood for firewood, and then hauls it away. But unlike most businesses in his field, he accommodates his customers, and sometimes even offers his services for free.

“I have been living in Florida the last 15 years, and just came back to Georgia a year ago here in the Bonaire area,” Foster said. “I have had several jobs, but tree removal has been my main line of work. And in 25 years of doing this I have never had an accident or injury.”

Foster said other companies typically charge $2,000 to remove one average size tree, but he charges that much to remove two trees. His services include cutting down the tree, cleaning up the area, and then if the customer doesn’t want to keep the tree, he will haul it away.

“If anyone is on a fixed income I will not charge them the full price and sometimes, depending on the situation, will not charge them at all,” Foster said. “I will also, if the customer doesn’t want the wood, I will donate it to someone who needs it for firewood for free. My parents have been on and are still on a fixed income. I don’t see the point in getting rich, because in the end you’re not going to take it with you. Stuff in life happens and I have been through my struggles as well, so I’d rather help people than try to get rich.”

Bonaire resident Earline Cole said that she and her husband had been contemplating having their trees cut, but prices of certain other businesses were out of their range. Cole then noticed Foster when her neighbor had him cut down their trees. Cole said her neighbor told her that he took down 15 small trees for them at a good price, cleaned up the mess, and was really pleased with his work.

“The two trees Tony is cutting down for us is probably the equivalent of the 15 he cut down for our neighbor,” Cole said. “We are amazed at his technique. He does not have equipment like the “big guys” – while without his truck, he carts his saws and other tools to and from his home, just a few streets over. We are impressed and thankful that our good neighbor ‘prayed him up’ also for us and several other residents in our immediate neighborhood who are physically unable to do extensive yard work.”

Foster said anyone interested in his services can contact him at 904-534-4611.
