Veterans High FFA Meats Evaluation Teams Win 1st at State

The Veterans High School FFA Jr. and Sr. Meats Evaluation Teams both won first place at state at the Georgia Career Development Event (CDE). The teams competed at the state finals on Nov. 3 in Athens, Ga.

They now advance to the FFA Nationals held October 2019 in Indianapolis, Ind.

The Meats Evaluation and Technology CDE provides a competitive event to develop employment skills in the meat animal industry, expand knowledge of meat animal marketing and merchandising, develop broader analytical skills and critical thinking strategies and develop an understanding of appropriate meat terminology. The event also develops the ability to evaluate meat animal products to optimize economic returns to producers and industry and meet consumer needs. See how well you would do by taking an online quiz to identify cuts of beef and cuts of pork.
