Undefeated Warner Robins should get tough defensive test at West Laurens this week
The Warner Robins High School Demons are at the top of the charts at the moment. Undefeated after four games this season -two on the road, two at home- against solid competition the Demons are playing on the road again this Friday in Dexter at West Laurens High School. As hot as the Warner Robins offense has been of late, scoring 38 points per game during their last two games; wins on the road at Peach County and Houston County High Schools, the Raiders are equally as hot in a small window. West Laurens hasn’t scored more than 34 points in any game this season (The Raiders score 34 in a win over South Effingham at home last week) but over the past two games their defense has been the star.
On September 8 the Raiders held Vidalia High School scoreless in a 15-0 win. The following week South Effingham happened to score a bit more, managing two points in a 34-2 loss on Friday. With the exception of Northside and despite their 2-2 overall record, the Raiders might be the best defensive unit the Demons will have faced thus far this season. The two points that the Mustangs did manage to score came in the fourth quarter.
West Laurens has the advantage of having won both of their wins (2-2) at home this season and has the home field to their advantage. Offense versus defense, undefeated at home against a team, Warner Robins, that’s undefeated on the road. This should be fun.
