Raleigh Elizabeth McCroskey Hunt, age 80, of Smyrna passed away Sunday, May 21, 2017. She was born in Knoxville, Tennessee on June 20, 1936. She leaves behind her husband of almost 57 years, Tommie Nelson Hunt; son. Jeffery Hunt; daughter, Judi Rogers (Brian); granddaughter, Amelia Rogers; sisters, Susie Hammond, Pat Greene (Gerald), and Missie MacDonald; and several nieces and nephews. Raleigh graduated from Perry High School in 1953 and from Georgia State College for Women in 1957. She taught First Grade in Perry and in Rosamond, California. She was active in the Wills High School Athletic Booster Club while Jeff and Judi were in High School. Later she was the Warehouse Manager for Scholastic Book Fairs for several years. She was baptized as a Southern Baptist. She chose cremation. There will be a visitation on Tuesday, May 23 from 5 to 7 PM at Carmichael Funeral Home, 2950 King Street, Smyrna, Georgia. Mrs. Hunt was an avid reader so instead of flowers put a book in your favorite library in her name. If you come, wear bright colors, she would like that. www.CarmichaelCares.com
