Summer School information now available

The Houston County School System is offering summer school at the middle school and high school levels in June. Students who have failed classes but want to graduate on time may pay to attend summer school.

Middle School Summer School location: Warner Robins Middle School, 425 Mary Lane

Registration: May 31 and June 1, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Summer School

Date: June 3 – 30

Hours: First session – 7:30 to 10:40 a.m.; Second session – 11:00 a.m. to 2:10 p.m.

Each session is 180 instructional minutes with a 10-minute break. Breakfast and lunch will be provided; lunch will be served 10:40 to 11 a.m.

Eligibility: Any middle school student.

Cost: $175 per class for Houston County students; $400 per class for Out-of-County students. The maximum is two classes. Tuition must be paid in full at registration by cash or money order.

If needed, a bus will transport students from Perry Middle School’s bus ramp at 6:45 a.m. and return at 2:40 p.m. Otherwise, all students must have their own transportation.

High School Summer School location: Edge Academy, 400 Elberta Road, Warner Robins

Registration: June 3, from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Summer School date: June 6 – 30

Hours: First session: 9 to 11 a.m.; Second session – 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Breakfast and lunch will be provided with breakfast at 8:30 a.m. and lunch at 11 a.m.

Eligibility: Enrollment is limited to current Edge Academy students and any senior currently attending a Houston County school who is two classes or less from graduation. No out-of-county students will be enrolled.

Cost: $175 per class. Houston County seniors may register for up to four classes. Tuition must be paid in full at registration by cash or money order.

Transportation is available to students from their home high school.

Format: Classes are computer-based and facilitated by a certified teacher.

Georgia Milestones: For those who need the assessment, Georgia Milestones will be administered June 20 – 24.

Shirley Randall will serve as the high school summer school principal.
