Local Businessman Named to Georgia Trend’s “40 Under 40”
Started in March of 2007, Gottwals Books began as a 1,500 square foot
shop in Warner Robins with 10,000 used books and grew into four stores
with over 16,000 square feet of retail space and 200,000 used books.
Because of the incredible success of this home-grown, locally-owned
business, Shane Gottwals started the Walls of Books® franchise in 2012.
This has spawned a store in Tifton, GA as well as New Orleans, LA. New
stores are being sought every week.
For the 17th year, Georgia Trend magazine presents a group of 40
outstanding Georgians under the age of 40 in their October edition. The
honorees represent business, government, politics, nonprofits, science,
conservation and education. The 40 were chosen from nominations made
by readers throughout the state. Final selections were made by the Georgia
Trend editorial staff. Most honorees are typically from the Atlanta area.
This year, Shane Gottwals was chosen. He is the youngest member on the
list and will be recognized at a ceremony at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta on
October 22nd.
