Eagle Scouts finish flagpole project
Troop 96 beautifies area
Recently, members of Boy Scout Troop 96 worked alongside members of the Perry Fire Department for a flagpole beautification project. Troop member Micah Jakes chose the idea and location of the project for the fire department as his Eagle Scout Project. Lt. Kirk Crumpton was the representative from the Perry Fire Department who worked alongside Jakes throughout the project.
“Micah came to me several months ago and presented this idea to me. He did the legwork for the project, including proposing a budget to me. It sounded like a great idea, and after obtaining clearance from the chief, we moved ahead with the project,” said Lt. Crumpton.
Lt. Crumpton and Jakes, along with several members of Troop 96, worked to make the project a success.
“Micah did a great job with this. I allowed him to take charge of the process and only offered guidance when it was requested,” said Lt. Crumpton.
The team worked together seamlessly. The flagpole can be seen on the Ball Street side of the Perry Fire Department Headquarters Station.
