Perry students earn national career credentials
Fifty-three Perry High School students successfully passed end of pathway assessments within their individual Career, Technical and Agricultural Education (CTAE) curriculum pathways. These End of Pathway assessments measure the level of technical skill attained. All of these students were awarded a certificate of completion and seniors also earned the right to wear a special cord for graduation.
For the assessments, students complete three courses per pathway and then take a written and/or hands-on test to prove their skillset in particular areas. Many of these are the same career tests adults take to prove their abilities and knowledge. The certifications give students a competitive edge.
Perry High School CTAE supervisor Christopher McPhail stated, “These assessments provide our students with valuable credentials within specific CTAE areas that will assist them as they enter the 21st century workforce. Their success on the assessments is a reflection of the hard work they have put into their CTAE classes, as well as a tribute to the quality instruction provided by our Perry High CTAE teachers.”
Listed below are the students and their CTAE areas in which they successfully met the requirements on their end of pathway assessment:
· Agriculture mechanics – Daniel Bergman, Cory Conway, Mattison Davis, Nicholas Geddis, Jake Glasscock, Kyle Greene, Dylan Griger, John Hartzog, Michael Herren, Brandon Loewen, Jake Parker, Andrew Rowell and James Watson.

In Georgia the CTAE measurement process has been derived in direct response to the Perkins IV Legislation, which mandates states to implement a valid and reliable assessment model linked directly to industry validated standards.
