Four Warhawks announce college baseball plans

Four Veterans Warhawks signed their names committing them to play baseball at the next level.

R.J. Skeen signed with Andrew College, a two-year institute in the town of Cuthbert, to continue his exploits as a left-handed pitcher. He said his future plans include a developing as a college baseball-pitcher while he earns his degree in physical therapy or agriculture science.

Outfielder Zack Wilkes signed with Brewton-Parker College in Mt. Vernon. Wilkes has played for Veterans for three years in the outfield.

Zane Conlan, also an outfielder and a part of Warner Robins history with the 2007 Little League world champions, is headed to Gordon State in Barnesville. Conlan was a Warhawk starter for three years.

Infielder David Shiplett committed to play for Eastern Nazerene College in Quincy, Mass., where he said he would play second base, shortstop or third base.

“I am so excited to play at the next level and get to experience Boston,” Shiplett said.

As a Warhawk Shiplett was a two-year starter as third baseman.
