Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Central Georgia Volleyball Association (CGVA) is holding an End-of-the-Year Showcase for family, friends, high school coaches and the community.  CGVA will be playing inter-club games

to showcase what the players have learned during the 2012/2013 season. This

event will also allow the Warner Robins/Macon community an opportunity to see

what club volleyball is all about.

This event will be held at the Shirley Hills Baptist Church gym on

Corder Road in Warner Robins on Thursday, April 25. Games will be played

beginning at 6 p.m. until 8:30.

For the 2012/2013 Season, CGVA sponsored 10 teams with 110 girls

and six boys.  CGVA is represented

by players from Houston County High, WRHS, Veterans, Northside, Perry,

Stratford and Mount de Sales along with multiple middle schools.

The youngest

players included both boys and girls 8 years old.  Nine seniors played with CGVA and all nine received a collegiate

offer to continue their volleyball career. The teams played tournaments

throughout the Southern Region which included Georgia, Tennessee and

Alabama.  Tournament success set unprecedented

levels with the U16 team winning five of five tournaments, the U17 winning two

of six tournaments and the U18 winning one of five. Second and third placed

finishes were common among the younger teams throughout the season.

CGVA is a non-profit Junior National volleyball club registered

with the Southern Region Volleyball Association (SRVA) belonging to the USA Volleyball

Association (USAV), which is the national governing body for volleyball. CGVA

is an all-volunteer association that organizes volleyball for juniors (ages

8-18) in the Middle Georgia area to compete in competitive USAV sanctioned

regional and national tournaments.
