WR offers land to state for training facility
The Warner Robins City Council voted unanimously Monday
night to offer up a 40-acre tract of land to the state for a proposed veteran’s
training facility.
The resolution that passed offers up the 40 acres that was
originally planned for the sports complex.
The proposed facility would help veterans enter the private
sector work force.
Now it’s up to state legislator to decide whether to approve
the project in their budget.
Also at Monday’s meeting the council named its employees of
the year:
Public works- Crystal Als, Utility’s Dept- Travis Lane,
Recreation- Ruby Hamb-Holmes, Fire Dept- Troy Hamilton, General Administration-
Elaine Wilson, Police Dept- Lee VanOsdol and City Development- Mark Huntingdon.
Employees were given $200 and two days paid leave for their
handwork and continued service to the city.
