The Warner Robins Building Authority approved the purchase

of equipment for the International City Golf Course Thursday.

Approximately $168,000 of the 2012 Special Purpose Local

Option Sales Tax (SPLOST) that was allocated for the golf course will be used

to purchase a greens mower, a tee mower, a fairway mower, a rough mower, a trap

rake and a sweeper from the low bidder, Golf Ventures.

According to Jared Reneau, the PGA golf professional at the

International City Golf Course, the equipment will replace the old equipment.

The Warner Robins City Council will have to approve the

purchase. The council is expected to vote on the purchases during their meeting

on Monday, Dec. 17.

In other business, the golf course is hosting an event for Wounded

Warriors and Exceptional/Special Needs Families.

Reneau said the event would be held on Dec. 22 starting at 9

a.m.

It includes free golf lessons, putting, course plan and

lunch.

Volunteers are needed to cheer for and assist participants,

said Reneau.

Donations of baked goods, toys and financial donations are

needed to provide treats at the event and gifts for participants.

Donations can be dropped off at the International City Golf

Course or can be picked up.

The golf course is located at 72 Play Golf Dr. in Warner

Robins.

To register to play, volunteer or donate, call 478-322-0276
