Ace Hardware in Perry recently won the J.D. Power award. It marked the eighth straight year it has done so. To show its appreciation, its staff held a customer event Wednesday.

Visitors, at that time, were treated to refreshments and prizes, and some lucky winners walked away with gift cards in amounts up to $100. (Or maybe stayed and spent them.)

The event, according to the release, was part of a cross-country tour celebrating Ace’s achievement by taking all eight J.D. Power trophies on the road, visiting 38 states and more than 175 neighborhood Ace Hardware stores between August and April 2015 and covering 24,000 miles.

“At Perry Ace, we’re proud to be a part of the Ace family of stores committed to delivering a more personal kind of helpful for our neighborhood customers each and every day,” said owner William Jackson. “It truly is an honor for Ace because we’re up against every home improvement store including the two big ones in the nation.”

Jackson added there’s even more excitement to be celebrated later on.

“This coming January Perry Ace will celebrate its 30th anniversary,” said Jackson. “It will be another opportunity to show our customers how much we appreciate them and the city of Perry.”
