69-year-old man dies after moped accident in Warner Robins

A moped accident in Warner Robins on Tuesday claimed the life of the moped driver, according to local law enforcement and the Houston County Coroner.

WARNER ROBINS — A moped accident in Warner Robins on Tuesday claimed the life of the moped driver, according to local law enforcement and the Houston County Coroner.

According to the Warner Robins Police Department, on Tuesday, Nov. 25 around 6 p.m., officers responded to the intersection of North Davis Drive and Tabor Drive.

A moped, operated by 69-year-old Lawrence Wyatt, was traveling westbound on Tabor Drive, and pulled into a parking lot, continuing west.

A vehicle operated by another driver was traveling north on N. Davis Drive toward Tabor Drive. Wyatt suddenly pulled out of the parking lot into North Davis Drive, placing him in front of the other vehicle, leading to a collision.

Wyatt was seriously injured from the accident. According to Coroner James Williams, he was transported by ambulance to Atrium Health Navicent in Macon, where he succumbed to his injuries early Wednesday morning.
