Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

The 116th Air Control Wing welcomed approximately 50

operations, maintenance, and support personnel primarily from the Air National

Guard, who returned from a three-month deployment to Qatar early Monday

morning.

While deployed, the crew provided vital support to

International Security Assistance Force operations in Afghanistan.

During deployment, a milestone of flying more than 80,000

combat hours since 2003 was reached.

The Joint STARS team, made up of the 116th and 461st Air Control Wings, fly and

maintain the air to ground surveillance aircraft using a high-tech

communication system employed nowhere else in the world. The joint partner, the

138th Military Intelligence Company, delivers top-of-the-line surveillance and

leadership to help JSTARS communicate with multi-service customers.
