WR to get new health center via federal grant

Five new healthcare centers will come to Georgia after a federal grant was awarded; one of those five centers will be in Warner Robins.

Mayor Chuck Shaheen held a press conference on Monday to announce that the city would partner with Houston Healthcare and First Choice Primary Care.

The grant awarded to First Choice Primary Care for $483,333 will increase access to preventative and primary care for Warner Robins citizens.

Shaheen said, “The strong partnership between the City of Warner Robins, Houston Healthcare and First Choice Primary Care has proven what can happen when we work together.”

The clinic will provide general primary care with services like check-ups, flu shots, x-rays and blood tests.

City officials have tentatively decided to put the center at 301 N. Davis Drive. They say they hope to have the clinic up and running by January.
