The Warner Robins City Council voted unanimously Monday

night to offer up a 40-acre tract of land to the state for a proposed veteran’s

training facility.

The resolution that passed offers up the 40 acres that was

originally planned for the sports complex.

The proposed facility would help veterans enter the private

sector work force.

Now it’s up to state legislator to decide whether to approve

the project in their budget.

Also at Monday’s meeting the council named its employees of

the year:

Public works- Crystal Als, Utility’s Dept- Travis Lane,

Recreation- Ruby Hamb-Holmes, Fire Dept- Troy Hamilton, General Administration-

Elaine Wilson, Police Dept- Lee VanOsdol and City Development- Mark Huntingdon.

Employees were given $200 and two days paid leave for their

handwork and continued service to the city.
