Sheriff’s deputy resigns

A Houston County Sheriff’s Sergeant resigned on Tuesday after being accused of using unnecessary force.


According to a press release from the Houston County Sheriff’s Office, Sgt. Kenneth Beck resigned after an internal investigation was launched to look into a report filed by Patrick Asselin, who accused Beck of using unnecessary force.


The release states Asselin was arrested on May 17 near Maulk Circle in Warner Robins and charged with aggravated stalking.


No details have been given on the alleged use of unnecessary force.


The Houston County Sheriff’s Office said the Georgia Bureau of Investigations is investigating the incident.
