The Reality Check “Design Our Next Billboard Contest” was hosted by Hodac and the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities. The contest was part of Hodac’s Reality Check community awareness initiative. The initiative focuses on preventing underage and binge drinking in our area. The Reality Check initiative involves setting up “checkpoints” in the community, where educators go out and talk about the realities of alcohol. The initiative also includes a 32 page newsletter, handouts at local businesses, newspaper ads, and TV and theater ads.
