Sacred Heart students create abstract art

Special to the Journal

Sacred Heart Catholic School

third grade students display their abstract art.  The students used paint

and pastels that visualized the qualities and characteristics of music they

heard playing in the classroom.  The lesson encourages empathy with others

and promotes the connection of music and art as one topic.  Students also

learned that Wassily Kandinsky  was one of the founders of 20th-century

abstract art.
