Forty-three maintainers from Robins Air Force Base are currently providing support to the Ogden Air Logistics Complex in Utah.
“We sent personnel to Hill Air Force Base to assist with their C-130 production machine,” said Lt. Col. Jeffrey Martin, 402nd Aircraft Maintenance Group deputy group commander.
They are assisting with programmed depot maintenance work across eight docks on the 309th Aircraft Maintenance Group’s C-130 production line. The support includes making major and minor structural repairs and component replacements.
“I’ve said to many on my team that this is an unprecedented effort,” said David Griffin, 572nd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron production chief. “This demonstrates the flexibility of the Air Force Sustainment Center to be able to reach out from one complex to another.”
Griffin noted that his 500–plus personnel had been working mandatory overtime on and off since February.
“The team that came from Robins is helping us to get caught up,” he said.
The team from Robins will be assisting for 120 days. Hill is also getting help from Air National Guard members from Idaho, Missouri, Utah and Delaware.
