Robins Cup has dramatic conclusion

Created and hosted by the Robins Regional Chamber of Commerce Military Affairs Committee, The Robins Cup Invitational is a Ryder Cup style golf tournament with 36 community leaders selected to compete against 36 leaders from the Robins Air Force base. The purpose of the event is to further enhance the great relationship between Base leadership and the local community.
Base Commander Col. Mitch Butikofer served as Captain of Team Robins and demonstrated true leadership sinking the winning putt in a playoff at the 18th hole at Houston Lake Country Club with over 100 spectators cheering him on.
Retired Gen. Bob McMahon, captain of the community team, presented the coveted Robins Cup trophy to Butikofer and Team Robins.
Tournament Chairman Retired Gen. Ron Smith organized the event designed to build relationships between community leaders and the leadership at Robins. The event included the unveiling of tournament teams and pairings at an outdoor social for participants, community officials, and spouses at The Houston Lake Country Club. Corporate sponsors include STATE Bank & Trust along with Lowe Toyota.
