The Macy Easom Cancer Research Foundation, a nonprofit

pediatric cancer foundation headquartered in Perry, Ga., is partnering with

Middle Georgia Orthopedic Surgery & Sports Medicine for the upcoming

Princess Macy Golf Tournament Saturday, June 29, at Southern Hills Golf Club in

Hawkinsville.

The golf tournament is a four-man scramble and begins with a

shotgun start at 1 p.m. Entry fee for the tournament is $400 per team and

includes green fees, cart, range balls, t-shirts, lunch before the tournament

and hors d’oeuvres following.

The tournament will also include activities for children

beginning at 3 p.m.

Each of the 18 tee boxes will feature a story honoring or memorializing a

“Special Georgia Hero” – a child who has been treated for pediatric cancer.

Trophies will be awarded for first through third place, and all proceeds from

the tournament benefit Macy Easom Cancer Research Foundation.

The Macy Easom Cancer Research Foundation was established in

memory of Macy Easom, a four-year-old girl diagnosed with hepatoblastoma, a

rare form of pediatric liver cancer, who passed away at the age of five.

The

foundation’s mission is to provide funding to enable research devoted to

finding a cure and treatment for hepatoblastoma and other pediatric cancers

while promoting public awareness.

Lisa Easom Howard, board member of the foundation, says the foundation

is excited for the golf tournament fundraiser in Hawkinsville.

“We are very excited about hosting the Princess Macy Golf

Tournament in Hawkinsville,” says Howard. “The foundation is proud to continue

this traditional event honoring Macy near her hometown.”

The foundation has been promoting the golf tournament for

several months and has received tremendous feedback.

“We are so thankful for all the support we have received for

the tournament,” says Howard. “From sponsors to teams to promoters, we could

not have done this without the help of our volunteers and supporters.”
