Read Across America celebrated at Perry Primary

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

The students at Perry Primary School enjoyed Read Across America Week with an assortment of activities that took place throughout the week.  Each morning, Media Specialist, Mrs. Melissa Lane, read a trivia question about Dr. Seuss or one of his books.  The students answered the questions and winners were chosen each afternoon.  Special guests visited classes and read books to the students.  Each day the students wore something different:  Monday: Crazy sock day, Tuesday: Wacky Tacky Day, Wednesday: Green Day for Green Eggs and Ham, Thursday: Where a shirt with the name of a place on it for “Oh! The Places You’ll Go!”, and Friday was Book Character day.  Students dressed up as their favorite book character and paraded through the school by grade level. See photos …
Read Across America is celebrated nationwide on or around the birthday of Dr. Seuss to highlight the importance of developing a love for reading at an early age
