Perry’s K-9 unit finds over $9,000
Two people from West Virginia were put behind bars on Monday
and charged with possession of marijuana and methamphetamine.
According to Perry Police Capt. Heath Dykes, Cpl. Kennom
made a routine traffic stop around noon and found that the driver, James
Bedwell, 38, was driving with a suspended license.
Dykes said Kennom’s K-9 detected the scent of narcotics. Upon
searching the vehicle police found marijuana, methamphetamines, $9,100 in cash,
several smoking devices and syringes.
Passenger Brittney Webber, 20, and Bedwell were arrested and
taken to the Houston County Jail.
Bedwell was charged with possession of methamphetamine,
possession of marijuana, possession of tools for the commission of a crime, driving
on a suspended license and failure to stop at a stop sign.
Webber was charged with possession of methamphetamine,
possession of marijuana and possession of tools for the commission of a crime.
