Perry Mayor joining Middle Georgia Technical staff

Perry Mayor Jimmy Faircloth started a new job this week, shifting gears from a human resources position at Parrish Construction to an educational job with Middle Georgia Technical College.

Faircloth joined MGTC in Warner Robins as a special projects manager. His appointment became effective April 8. As the special projects manager, he will be responsible for working with intergovernmental initiatives within the region and across the state to boost Middle Georgia Tech’s position as a leading provider of training and economic development services. He will also work to coordinate and implement targeted projects to support Robins Air Force Base and other employers throughout the region.

Faircloth currently serves as mayor for the city of Perry and most recently worked as the comptroller and human resources director for Parrish Construction in Perry. In this position, he managed the overall financial operations of the commercial construction firm and monitored accounting controls and systems, payroll, personnel, benefits plans, and the vehicle fleet.

Prior to his time Parrish, he worked as president, chief operating officer and chief financial officer for Southern Health and Rehabilitation.

Faircloth began his career in the banking industry with First Atlanta Bank in Americus and spent more than 20 years working at various levels, ending his banking career as vice president at CB&T Bank of Middle Georgia in Perry in 2001.

Faircloth holds a bachelor of business administration from Georgia Southwestern State University and completed the Graduate School of Banking of the South at Louisiana State University. He is active in the community, having served as past president and treasurer for the Perry Area Chamber of Commerce and past chairman and member of the Houston County Hospital Authority. He served the Perry Area Convention and Visitor’s Bureau for 13 years, with two of those years as chairman. He is currently a member, and a past board member, of the Perry Rotary Club.

He and his wife Patti attend Perry United Methodist Church.
