Perry gets new fire engine
After moving into the new fire station, Perry’s firefighters will have a new engine within a year.
The city council members approved the manufacture Rosenbauer’s bid for $751,267 for the new rescue pumper.
According to Chief Joel Gray, the engine is “custom designed” and will come with a multi-position water tower, which will provide an elevated stream of water.
In regards to the Davis Farm Station, Gray said the firefighters are “getting settled in” and “everything seems to be going pretty good.”
Gray said the first call that was run out of the new station happened at 5 p.m. Wednesday. The call time was reduced from eight minutes to two minutes, he said.
One engine and the three people assigned to that engine per shift have been assigned to the Davis Farm Station.
