Perry Chamber cuts ribbon at Destiny Fitness

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

The Perry Area Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting for Destiny Fitness located at 1121 Ball St. in Perry on July 17.  Members of the Perry Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, President and CEO Stacy Campbell and other Perry business leaders were present to celebrate with gym director Jason McGonagill and his staff.

NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Driver David Ragan made a special appearance during the ribbon cutting along with his father Ken Ragan who serves on the Board of Directors for the Perry Chamber. Chamber members were thrilled to congratulate him in person for his recent win at the Aaron’s 499 at the Talladega Superspeedway.

Destiny Fitness currently has six centers open in Georgia (Albany, Columbus, Fitzgerald, Griffin, Perry, and Sylvester). Renovations have already begun on additional centers to add new locations in the future. They are backed by Destiny Fitness Management which is a division of Video Management Services, originally founded in 1985 as Video Warehouse.

Due to changing consumer preferences in the movie rental industry, owner and founder Gerald Pryor, has been diversifying the business to take advantage of serving new market trends at certain locations.

The gym has great people with a diverse management company and our flexibility enables us to operate in several very different industries. In 2012, Destiny Fitness hired Jason McGonagill as the Gym Director and consultant for his many years of experience in the industry.

The first Destiny Fitness gym was successfully opened in November of 2012 in Griffin with five more locations opening in the next six months. Future locations are also planned in Ft. Valley, Cordele, and several other locations in the Southeast.
