Unable to play at Warner Robins High Tuesday due to a sudden rush of inclement weather 30 minutes before the opening pitch, the Panthers regrouped, reloaded the bus and traveled to Peach County High Wednesday for a non-region rivalry baseball contest.
Perry ended a four-game losing streak in Ft. Valley by winning 7-3. Both wins for the Panthers up to that date in 2013 were against the Trojans.
The game started with the visitors scoring five runs in the first inning. Perry had just four hits, two by Dillon Hendrix, and Peach County committed seven errors.
J.W. Gentry drove in one Perry run on a single.
Dylan Griger and Hunter Knowles combined to pitch a three-hitter with five strikeouts in seven innings.
