No tax increase proposed for City of Centerville
The Centerville City Council has been reviewing its budget since City Administrator Patrick Edison presented the $10.5 million balanced plan to the group earlier in May.
There is no tax increase proposed in the FY 2014 budget. City council members will have a public hearing on June 4; they plan to adopt the budget at their June 18 meeting.
Also, the council is tossing around the idea of a program that will bring state legislators together with city officials to discuss issues and points of interest going on in the community.
Beth English, Vienna’s mayor pro-tem, attended last week’s city council meeting and gave members a presentation on how the City of Vienna hosts a Hometown Connection program.
English said the program has been successful in connecting her city to state officials.
“They need to be able to put a face with a name when you call them,” English said.
Centerville councilmembers agreed the event could be a good option for the city and the county to strengthen relationships with state officials.
