The 82-year-old man from Bonaire who went missing Tuesday
has been found dead.
According to Capt. Jon Holland of the Houston County
Sheriff’s Department, Kenneth Neuhart was found by Georgia Search and Rescue in
a “thickly wooded area” at the 300 block of Old Perry Road around 10:30 a.m.
Wednesday.
The cause of death was a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the
head, states a release from the Sheriff’s Office. The death has been ruled a
suicide.
A release stated that Neuhart left his home, which is
located on the 100 block of Walnut Ridge Drive, on foot between 6:30 and 8 a.m.
Tuesday.
Neuhart may have been suffering from medical and emotional
issues, according to the release.
The Georgia State Patrol Aviation Unit, Georgia Search and
Rescue, the Georgia Department of Natural Resources and the Houston County Fire
Department helped with the search.
Holland said that no foul play is suspected. The case is
still under investigation.
