A two-week investigation has concluded with the arrest of a

man accused of stealing from multiple vacant homes in Houston County.

Denver Eugene Brooks Jr., 32, of Bonaire is facing several

felony charges that include burglary, motor vehicle theft and criminal damage

to property in relation to allegedly stealing lawn equipment, appliances and

tools from homes that were either vacant or for sale. One home located on the

200 block of Highland Park Drive in Bonaire, according to a release from the

Sheriff’s Office, was occupied.

The release states that deputies and investigators along

with the Georgia Board of Pardons and Parole contacted Brooks at his Howley

Road home. They found evidence that linked him to the burglaries and a stolen

1993 Chevrolet truck.

He is also accused of breaking into several cars and

damaging them at Wilkes Garage in Bonaire on March 14. A 1979 Chevrolet Caprice

was stolen during the March 14 incident.

The Sheriff’s Office has recovered two stolen vehicles and

property related to the burglaries. Investigators are continuing to recover

more property as the investigation continues, said the release.

Brooks is being held at the Houston County Detention Center

without bond. He is also charged with violation of parole.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Sgt. Joe

Middlebrooks at 478-542-2085 or 478-542-2080.
