Kody Lucas’ memory lives through show

Kody Lucas was known for helping others. Even during his 5-year battle with brain cancer, he hosted blood drives, helped aspiring musicians like himself and preached being kind to others.

It’s why his mother, Donna Moss has vowed to continue Kody’s legacy of giving, establishing a named fund with the Jay’s HOPE Foundation called “Chords of Kindness.” Besides providing support to families in Middle Georgia facing childhood cancer, this fund will also start a music therapy program in Central Georgia for pediatric oncology patients.

On Saturday, July 13 at Southern Bridle Farm in Fort Valley, Chords of Kindness hosted “Melodies and Memories: A Night To Remember Kody Lucas.” The event included dinner and music from “The Grapevine” band. There was also a silent auction.

“This is what Kody would have wanted,” says Moss. “For everyone to have a fun night for a great cause.”
