Heart of Georgia Hospice hosts, ‘Southern Heart Mart’

Heart of Georgia Hospice, Inc. for the first time is hosting a craft/vendor mart called, “Southern Heart Mart.” Dawn Rozar, MBA-HA, BSN, RN, executive director for Heart of Georgia Hospice, said the event is a fundraiser for the non-profit organization.

“Heart of Georgia Hospice, Inc. is Medicare certified and the majority of our patients receive care that is fully paid for by Medicare,” Rozar said. “Medicaid and private insurance are also accepted forms of payment, but for those who are uninsured and cannot pay, in most cases, we are able to serve those patients and require no fees for services.”

Rozar said they host several fundraisers throughout the year, but wanted to try out something different for the community. The mart will take place Aug. 10 from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m., and Aug. 11 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. It will be held at the Cary Martin Conference Center (the back of the old Houston Mall) 233 North Houston Rd. Warner Robins, GA. Tickets are $5.00 (cash only) and children 10 and under are free.

“The Southern Heart Mart will feature vendors selling unique and trendy items,” Rozar said. “There will be boutique clothing, handcrafted soaps and body products, antique home décor, hand crafted jewelry, and more. We will also have food trucks available on site as well. We are very excited and foresee this becoming an annual event.”

All proceeds from the event will go directly to and benefit Heart of Georgia Hospice in helping their patients and families in Middle Georgia. For more information go online to their website at heartofgahospice.org.
