Houston County Honor Choir Concert March 16

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

The Houston County Honor Choir will be

performing in concert at Central Baptist Church on Saturday, March 16, at 2:30

in the afternoon. The choir is made up of fifth grade students that have been

chosen from 20 elementary schools in the county.

The students are required to pass an

audition before being invited to join the choir. They will be working with a

clinician that will polish and perfect their songs for the concert. This year

the visiting clinician will be Melissa Elliot-Shepard. She is a graduate of

Wesleyan College and has been a music specialist in Bibb County schools for the

past 18 years. She is presently the music specialist at Vineville Academy of

the Arts and she was the founding director of the Bibb County Honor Choir.

Houston County music teachers are

pleased to be presenting their students in concert for the fifth year in a row.

They said it is an honor to be chosen and an exciting experience for these

students to be a part of this choir. You will be in for a treat when you come

out to hear 200 of the best singers in the county.
