HC Bears blast WR, Perry

From Staff ReportsTwenty-nine runs in two days? That is hitting the ball well.
Houston County High’s baseball Bears defeated Warner Robins High 17-0 on Tuesday and Perry High 12-0 on Wednesday, both at home.
Dalton Carriker had the game of games Tuesday, hitting two home runs – one a grand slam – and driving in seven total. Hunt Smith wasn’t bad either with a home run, two doubles and three RBI. Also, Blake Jackson doubled and homered for three RBI and David Umphreyville had three hits, two being doubles.
Justin Jones added two hits and Hunter Phillips batted in two runs.
On the mound, Jordan McIlwain pitched a two-hitter while striking out six Warner Robins hitters.
The onslaught continued Wednesday with Jackson recording three hits and three RBI on Perry. Jones belted a three-run home run and Dustin Strickland – starting the game at first base – had two hits with two RBI.
He was on first because Phillips pitched for coach Jason Brett. In five innings, Phillips fanned six and allowed four hits, all singles.
