Feeney crowned Miss Perry High School 2013

Senior Janea Feeney was

crowned Miss Perry High School 2013 before a packed auditorium on Thursday

night.  The pageant, which

showcased 19 Perry High School students who competed in interview, sportswear

and platform, talent and evening gown opened to the contestants dancing to the

theme “That’s What Makes you Beautiful!”

 

Winners for the

evening included: Miss Congeniality –Melissa Anagnost; Interview Winner- Janea

Feeney and Talent Winner- Janea Feeney.

 

Kaitlyn Bustamante was

named Miss Freshman 2013; Georgia Kelly was named Miss Sophomore 2013; and Samantha

Gidney was named Miss Junior 2013. Senior Dee Dee Hayes was named 1st runner up.

 

Senior, Janea Feeney, who was

crowned Miss Perry High School 2013, is the daughter of Michael and Debbie

Moore. She is a member of the National Honor Society, Prayer Club, Math League,

Drama Department at Perry High and National Art Honor Society.  Janea was voted the Senior Superlative

“Most Likely to Succeed” and she recently placed 1st in the Perry High  “Poetry Out Loud” Competition. She has

won numerous award for her Art work including 1st place in a county wide art

competition which was sponsored  by

the City of Perry. Janea was recently awarded the Prestigious Presidental Scholarship

at Mercer University which will pay full tuition for 4 years.  She is President of the National Honor

Society at Perry High and she is a Mercer Service Scholar and Mercer Tift

Scholar. Janea plans on attending Mercer Univeristy and pursue a master’s

degree in Environmental Engineering. She hopes to use her skills to make a

difference in her community whether it is in her hometown or across the globe.

Janea enjoys playing the violin and she is active in the Youth Group at

Crosspoint Baptist

 

Scholarship money will be awarded to the winners upon their graduation

from Perry High School. The pageant was sponsored by the Perry High School

Theater department.
