Fears qualifies for Women’s Amateur Championship

With a round of 73, former Warner Robins High and Mercer

University junior golfer Lacey Fears qualified for the U.S. Women’s Amateur

Public Links Championship. She played Wednesday at The Oaks Course in Covington

and was one of five golfers to qualify and one of three to record a 73.

 

The 37th annual U.S. Women’s Amateur Public Links

Championship will be held at the Oklahoma University course in Norman, Okla.,

June 17-22.

 

Fears was named to the Atlantic Sun women’s golf

All-Conference team for the second year in a row. She is No. 105 in the

Golfstat rankings, the second best among A-Sun players. She led Mercer with a

74.65 scoring average.
