Dreams Really Do Come True

People

are always sharing their hopes and dreams. Little girls wish upon a star; they

dream of being a princess and, when they are older, of meeting and marrying

Prince Charming, Mr. Right. Little boys dream of superheroes and later of being

the all-American athlete. Later on we want the dream vacation, the dream house;

we want to live the great American dream.

When

we get older, wisdom that comes through experience has our dreams take a

different shape. So it is for those who have faced the cancer diagnosis — the

patient, the survivor, the caregiver — and the teams of researchers, physicians

and organizations that pursue the cure. For some, the dream becomes a mission,

a purpose in life, a legacy.

In

February, we celebrate the one-year anniversary of the Cancer Serenity Garden.

Located in Warner Robins, it is adjacent to the main post office on Russell

Parkway. The garden is the “dream come true” of Judy Mason, owner of Color Me

Pink, and founder of Georgia Cancer Friends, Inc. This garden hopefully offers

a respite for those fighting cancer and for those hoping to find comfort and

healing after the loss of a loved one. Take time to visit the garden. Consider

buying a brick “in honor of” or “in memory of” someone touched by cancer.

Consider a donation to help the dream grow as we hope to add a water fountain

to the garden. Contact Judy at Color Me Pink 478-953-1377 or P.O. Box 9188, Warner Robins, GA 31095.
