Crossroads hosts poetry contest
The Crossroads Center Media Center recently hosted a “Middle School Poetry Writing” competition for its patrons. Students were invited to submit one poem for judging. Each student chose a topic and poetic form and then composed an original poem. Some poems focused on love while Samba Diallo’s focused on his native country, Mali. Presentations and gifts were provided by media specialist Michael Lashley and principal Ronnie Walker. The top three winners (pictured with Lashley) are: first place winner — Tyra Thomas, second place winner — Catelyn Morris, and third place winner, Samba Diallo.
