City of Centerville postpones reopening

After speaking with Centerville Mayor John Harley earlier this week, Houston Home Journal announced in Wednesday’s paper—in an article entitled, “Centerville City Hall reopens with restrictions”—that Centerville City Hall and other offices would be reopening on Friday, May 1. Since that time, subsequent to giving the matter further consideration, the reopening was deferred to a later date.

In a statement released through the City of Centerville’s official website, the following announcement was posted: “After further review, the Mayor and Council have chosen to postpone opening City Hall and other offices to the general public until May 14. Recycling Center will reopen on May 16. We appreciate the support and understanding from our residents, businesses and community partners. This is an ever-evolving situation, and we are trying to make the best decisions we can with the information we have at the time. Thank you again for your understanding, and as always, we look forward to serving you via our website www.centervillega.org, through our drive-thru, or over the phone.”

Mayor and council continue to urge citizens to follow CDC guidelines to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
