Church group helps build Habitat for Humanity home

The Young Single Adults from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints 1st Ward Warner Robins recently spent their Saturday in service to the community painting a home and helping with construction of a new home. Approximately 20 youth gathered to help out two families in need.

“We believe when we are in service of our fellow man we are in service of our God,” Kyle Ashcroft said. “Helping with the Habitat for Humanity was a very enjoyable experience. Meeting and working with new people can sometimes be challenging, but when people focus on a common goal great things can happen. We were able to come together regardless of interest, religious affiliations or ethnicity and help someone in need. What a joy it was to look back at the end of the day and see what we accomplished.”

Jessica Kozak said, “Doing service always helps me feel closer to Christ. I am glad I could help.”

Daniel Stroud said, “It was a great event I enjoyed the time with the other volunteers.”

Rebecca Hieronymi said, “It was amazing to see a group of young adults come together and give of themselves so selflessly. I felt so proud to be part of that group Saturday and thankful for the opportunity to serve our community.”
