Child kidnapping, hunt results in arrest

After

a four-hour manhunt on Friday night, a man was put behind bars for kidnapping

his child.

 

According

to a press release from the Houston County Sheriff’s office, Justin Babtunde,

21, kidnapped a 2-year-old child during a custody exchange at the 400 block of

Arena Road in South Houston County. Babtunde fled into the woods; members of

the Houston County Sheriff’s Response Team found him four hours later at a

house in the Mossy Oaks subdivision.

 

The

child was returned to the custodial parent unharmed after being evaluated by

medical personnel.

 

Babtunde

is charged with kidnapping and other related charges. He is being held without

bail.

 

The

Georgia State Patrol, Houston County Fire Department, Houston County Sheriff’s

Office canine unit, Dooly County Sheriff’s Office and the Warner Robins Police

Department assisted the Sheriff’s Office in the man hunt.
