Their story is one of transformation, inspiration and hard work.

Ken and Austin Andrews from Season 11 of “The Biggest Loser” are in the Middle Georgia are a spreading their inspiring message this weekend.

Ken’s message is one of hope and triumph, while Austin’s is inspiring about his life ahead.

The two lost nearly 400 pounds together while on the show. Ken, once weighing 455 pounds and, Austin, only 20 years old and weighing 435, said the show was life changing for the two of them.

“I didn’t have a weight problem, I had a heart problem, and once I fixed my brokenness the weight started to fall right off of me,” Ken said.

Since being on the show Ken and Austin have told their story of triumph. Ken said he believes what he overcame speaks not only to food addiction but to all addictions.

“Our communities are full of people just existing and going through the motions. I want them to know there is so much more out there,” Ken said.

They hope to reach out to anyone who needs inspiring or motivation, but Ken said he is particularly concerned with the health of pastors across the country. Being a pastor himself he knows, “Ms. Nellie will offer you a piece of pecan pie when you stop by to visit her on Thursday to check on her,” he said.

As pastors, Ken said, eating is a social thing.

“I want pastors to be able to serve their communities in the best way possible,” he said

Austin, although skeptical of his father wanting to go on the show, faced his fear and went to the first on-camera interview with the family.

“Being on the show was hard, but the moment I realized it wasn’t about a game or the workout that day, but about my life, losing weight became my focus,” Austin said.

Austin talked about being obese as a child and a teenager. He shared memories of he and his dad having to get to resturants before other guests arrived to ensure they got a table and not a booth because they couldn’t fit in booth seating.

“It was embarrassing,” Austin said.

Ken calls what he and Austin do now “paying it forward.” They travel and give inspiration to anyone who will listen. The two have spoken at more than 100 venues since being on “The Biggest Loser” and changing their lives.

“Being on the show was a God thing. My life is better today because Christ loved me so much he put me on a crazy game show to see my life change for the good,” Ken said.

The father-son duo are in town to run a 5k in Macon on Saturday as well as to speak on Sunday morning at The Refuge Church in Perry at 10:30 a.m.

The Refuge Church is located at 100 Todd Road in Perry.
