Two Pulaski County escapees of five-man group captured in WR
This past Sunday, the Warner Robins Police Department (WRPD) apprehended two inmates following a five-man group’s escape from the Pulaski County Jail last Friday, according to a Monday press release from the WRPD.
At 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, WRPD officers were dispatched to the 600 block of North Davis Drive regarding a tip that one of the escaped men was in the area, the release stated.
Upon responding, a patrol officer spotted the suspected vehicle and personnel performed a felony traffic stop that resulted in the arrest of 27-year-old Tyree Montan Jackson, without incident.
Later that night, the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force and WRPD SWAT served a search warrant at a residence in the 100 block of Magnolia Avenue, leading to the arrest of 22-year-old Lewis Wendell Evans III, again, without incident, the release stated. State troopers and State Patrol Aviation assisted U.S. Marshals and SWAT with serving the warrant.
The group’s vehicle, a stolen white 2015 Kia Sedona with a Georgia tag, was also found in Warner Robins.
WRPD stated if you have any information regarding the additional escaped inmates, contact your local law enforcement agency or call Macon Regional Crimestoppers at 1-877-68CRIME. If you see the inmates, avoid encountering them and call the authorities because the men are considered armed and dangerous, according to the release.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) said the remaining three members of the five-man group are still at-large:
33-year-old Tyree Williams, Jr. — 5’6” — 160 pounds — brown eyes
24-year-old Brandon Pooler — 6’1” — 215 pounds — brown eyes
28-year-old Dennis Penix, Jr. — 5’9” — 165 pounds — brown eyes
Officials with the GBI said anyone with additional information can leave an anonymous tip via their Tip Line at 1-800-597-8477 or through https://investigative-gbi.georgia.gov/gbi-tip-line.
“The U.S. Marshals Service is offering a reward of up to $5,000.00 for information leading to the direct arrest of any of the wanted escapees,” according to a Monday tweet from the GBI.
The bureau sent out a “Blue Alert” on Saturday regarding the incident, reserving the alerts for situations involving suspects at-large who may pose a serious public safety risk, according to the GBI website.
