Sheriff Cullen Talton and his hardworking team were
recognized last week in Atlanta for their outstanding work in taking impaired
drivers off of Houston County roads. Deputies received a Gold Shield Honor from
Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD).
The Houston County Sheriff’s Department was noted for its
outstanding professionalism and hardwork over the past year. Houston County
Deputies netted 263 DUI arrests last year.
MADD recognizes those police officers, sheriff’s deputies
and state troopers who have excelled in stopping drunk driving, supporting
victims of DUI and preventing underage drinking
Lt. Mike Stokes of the Houston County Sheriff’s Office noted
this was the fifth time the department has earned the distinct recognition.
Individual deputies recognized for their outstanding work in
DUI arrests were: Cpl. Odom, Deputy Hall, Deputy Miller and Deputy Cumpton.
