Fatz Café hosts breakfast benefit to support the Serenity Foundation

Fatz Café hosted a Breakfast Benefit on Saturday, June 22nd. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Serenity Foundation; a non-profit organization, founded by local physicians and nurses to assist patients and families that are confronted with a terminal illness and under Hospice care. Volunteers and employees of Serenity Hospice Care poured into Fatz to join their staff on Saturday morning as they served up stacks of pancakes, sausage, fruit, coffee and juice to those that came in and purchased tickets.

Fatz Café has been known to help many charities and non-profit organizations and we knew that we wanted to work with them for our fundraiser. Their management and staff were great and we are thankful for all that they did to host the event.” said organizer Jennifer Sizemore, Administrator of Serenity Hospice Care in Warner Robins.

The event raised close to $500 for the organization and will truly help the families and patients. The organization approves grants such as special medical equipment, housing, utilities, clothing, groceries and much more to assist these families during a difficult time. “We at Serenity believe that a terminally ill patient should be able to live a life focused on quality and dignity without worry about medical needs or whether or not basic needs are going to be met. We want to thank Fatz Café for opening their doors and making the Pancake Breakfast Benefit a success as well as all of our employees and volunteers that came out to support and gave their time. We are truly blessed and look forward to continuing to give back.” said Shanna Dupree, CEO of Serenity Hospice Care.
