Building Authority discusses IC course

The Warner Robins Building Authority met on Wednesday to discuss two important issues concerning the International City Golf Course. One was the 2014 budget and the other, a faculty upgrade.

ICGC general manager and PGA Golf Professional Jarred Reneau started the meeting by telling the authority he was instructed by city officials to submit a budget that reflected $50,000 in cuts. The biggest cuts in the line items were golf cart maintenance, irrigation repairs and maintenance, and advertisements and promotions. Reneau noted that with getting new carts last year, the warranty keeps the course from carrying the expense of repairs.

Reneau told the authority that the presented budget is a rough draft and that the Warner Robins city council will be discussing the budget in the upcoming months
.

Also, the building authority voted to spend $15,000 to upgrade the men’s bathroom and locker room in the golf pro shop.

Reneau said the project, which will be paid for from the 2012 Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax, shouldn’t take longer than two weeks to complete.

He noted that most of the work would be done in house, so that will save time and money.
The upgrades include a total redo with new tile, toilets, faucets and plumbing.
“The renovation are needed, “ Reneau said.
The renovation work is scheduled to start on Monday.
